Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The opening chapters of the book of Genesis tell in dramatic terms of the creation of the heavens and earth. The phrase "In the beginning..." implies a time of incomprehensible remoteness. For examples of songs referring to the creation account, see 'Wanted Children' by Bunny Wailer, and 'Creation' by Peter Tosh.

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
The knowledge of the awesome fact of being created in God's own image should surely make us love and respect others and ourselves. We are special in God's sight. God even gave us dominion "over all the earth", so we should acknowledge our responsibility and not abuse that freedom. ... See, for example, the songs '
Reincarnated Souls', by Bunny Wailer, and 'We And Them', by Bob Marley.
