Have
you not brought this on yourself? |
Jeremiah
2:17 - Hast thou not procured
this unto thyself,
in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God,
when he led thee by the way? |
Your own
wickedness will correct you
The fear of Me is not in you |
Jeremiah
2:19 - Thine own wickedness
shall correct thee,
and thy backslidings shall reprove thee:
know therefore and see that it is an evil thing
and bitter,
that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God,
and that my fear is not in thee,
saith the Lord GOD of hosts. |
On your skirts
is found the
Blood of the poor innocents |
Jeremiah
2:34 - Also in thy skirts is
found the blood of the souls of the poor
innocents: I have not found it by secret search,
but upon all these. |
They have not
obeyed my voice
They have walked according to the
Dictates of their own hearts |
Jeremiah
9:13-14 - And the LORD saith,
Because they have forsaken my law which I set
before them,
and have not obeyed my voice,
neither walked therein; But have walked
after the imagination of their own heart,
and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: |
You are near in
their mouth
But far from their mind |
Jeremiah
12:2 - Thou hast planted them,
yea, they have taken root:
they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit:
thou art near in their mouth, and far from their
reins. |
Will you still
not be made clean?
Will you still not? |
Jeremiah
12:27 - I have seen thine
adulteries,
and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom,
and thine abominations on the hills in the fields.
Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem!
wilt thou not be made clean?
when shall it once be? |
Hear and give
ear
Do not be proud
For the LORD has spoken
Before your feet stumble
And while you're looking for light
He turns it into the shadow of death
But if you will not hear it
My soul will weep in secret
For your pride |
Jeremiah
13:15-17 - Hear ye, and give
ear; be not proud:
for the LORD hath spoken. Give glory to the LORD
your God,
before he cause darkness, and before your feet
stumble
upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for
light,
he turn it into the shadow of death,
and make it gross darkness.
But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep
in secret places for your pride;
and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with
tears,
because the LORD's flock is carried away captive. |
What will you
say when He punishes you?
Why have these things come upon me?
Can the Ethiopian change his skin
Or the leopard its spots
Then may you also do good
Who are accustomed to do evil
This is your lot
Because you have forgotten Me |
Jeremiah
12:21-25 - What wilt thou say
when he shall punish thee?
for thou hast taught them to be captains,
and as chief over thee:
shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in
travail?
And if thou say in thine heart,
Wherefore come these things upon me?
For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy
skirts discovered,
and thy heels made bare.
Can the Ethiopian change his skin,
or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do
good,
that are accustomed to do evil.
Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble
that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from
me,
saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me,
and trusted in falsehood. |
You are near in
their mouth
But far from their mind
And your backslidings will rebuke you |
|
Therefore I
will uncover your skirts
Over your face |
Jeremiah
12:26 - Therefore will I
discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame
may appear. |
